Three smaller quakes were registered Tuesday morning and more occurred Tuesday afternoon.</p> <p>A 4.9 magnitude quake 141 miles west of Coos Bay was registered at 12:02 p.m. Sept. 9. Followed by a magnitude 5.1 tremor 140 miles west of Coos Bay and a 4.4 tremor 129 miles west of Coos Bay, both occurring at 12:31 p.m.</p> <p><em><strong>Previous coverage posted at 7 a.m. Sept.9</strong></em></p> <p>The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) reports a magnitude 5.8 earthquake occurred at 9:08 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, approximately 100 miles west of Port Orford along the Oregon coast.</p> <p>Three other smaller quakes followed the 5.8 magnitude quake, a 4.9 magnitude at 10:59 p.m. Monday.
